Tom is a native and lifelong resident of New York. He has been practicing before the courts of the State of New York and the federal district courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York since 2010. He is a graduate of New York University (B.A., Middle Eastern Studies) and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University (J.D., International and Comparative Law).

He established the firm shortly after graduating law school with a view towards bringing general practice into the 21st century. He has extensive experience litigating and negotiating in each of the firm's practice areas. Equipped with this knowledge and experience, utilizing the latest in technology, and leveraging a robust network of distinguished like-minded colleagues, he continues to provide intelligent, cost-effective representation to a diverse clientele of individuals, families and businesses.

 

Tom received a scholarship to New York University, where he studied in the humanities. After graduating, he worked with a distinguished commercial law firm before commencing his studies at Cardozo Law School as part of an accelerated program. There, he earned a position on Cardozo’s prestigious Arts & Entertainment Law Journal, where he served as Associate Editor; sat on the chapter board of the Unemployment Action Center, a not-for-profit organization providing pro bono legal representation to unemployment claimants; and was selected to participate in Cardozo’s renowned Human Rights and Genocide Clinic, where he worked with the Open Society Institute in drafting a complaint to the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights on behalf of victims of human rights abuses in Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast). Tom spent his time at the Office of New York State Attorney General in the Health Care Bureau, fighting for patients’ rights and interpreting and enforcing the insurance and health care laws of the state.

An active contributor to the local and legal communities of the metropolitan area, Tom is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Association of the Bar of the City of  New York, the New York County Lawyers’ Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association. In addition to his practice, Tom provides low-cost and pro-bono services to economically disadvantaged individuals and businesses and advises several not-for-profit organizations.
